What is a corporate website
A corporate website is a resource on the Internet that provides information about the company, its business or businesses, the specifics of work, policies, key employees, plans, non-business activities, and so on.
When you need a corporate website
One-day firms, whose task is to quickly make money on a popular product or service, do not need a corporate website. A corporate website is an investment for companies that have come into business seriously and for a long time. But for a reputable company, the absence of a corporate website is bad manners and a bad sign. Partners may consider such a company unreliable, because in the 21st century, if you are not on the Internet, you do not exist.
So, a corporate website is needed by companies and businesses that plan to work in the chosen market for several years, develop, and maintain relationships with customers, partners and employees.
Benefits of a corporate website
If the size and specifics of the business require the development of a large corporate website, it makes sense to focus on its advantages in order to get the most out of the site as a business tool.
A landing page or business card site usually performs only one task. A corporate site can perform a whole range of tasks.
Image
The corporate website contains information that does not affect direct sales, but forms a certain image of the company among visitors. This is the history of the company, corporate values, policy, socially responsible projects, as well as information about the leaders and key employees of the company.
Marketing
You can embed landing pages for advertising campaigns into a corporate website, or, on the contrary, direct advertising traffic to one of the website pages. You can evaluate the company's performance and generate leads. In addition, you can optimize the texts on the site pages for search robots and improve the position of the site in the search results.
Sales
Not all companies add store functionality to their corporate website. But if the business is connected with direct sales, this is indispensable. The list of goods, descriptions and categories, order or payment form - all this can be present on the corporate website.
Integration with external services
If complex functionality on a business card site is far from always necessary, then there is no point in saving on functions on a corporate site. Integration with external services is the ability to share information from the site in social networks, go to the order pages, payment systems and delivery services, and even a piece of the map in the “Contacts” section. For some businesses, it will be relevant to build an interactive schedule for the reception of specialists into the site, also through integration with an external service.
Detailed contacts
If a business card site usually contains a phone number and address, then a corporate site may contain a whole section for contacts. Here is a map with the addresses of the office or offices, a contact form, phone numbers of contact persons or administration, addresses for suggestions and complaints, and so on.
Stages of corporate website development
The development of a corporate website takes place in several stages.
Briefing. The customer and the contractor hold a meeting at which they fill out the brief. The brief describes what sections should be on the future site, what pages, basic and additional features. At the stage of preparing a brief, it is important for the customer to understand how he wants to see the site and what to use it for. Of course, it will be possible to add additional functionality - for example, an order and payment page - at later stages. But this will require a revision of the timing and budget of the work.
Evaluation and signing of the contract. After filling out the brief, the customer's representatives conduct an assessment - the so-called "estimate" of the terms and budget of the work.
If the customer agrees with the proposal, the parties sign a contract, the customer makes a 50% advance payment.
Prototyping. At this stage, a website prototype is created. This is a layout that cannot yet function as a site, but on which you can see how the site created according to the brief will look like in reality. The prototype is agreed with the customer.
Development. The main stage of work on the creation of a corporate website. The external side of the site and the internal part are being developed, with a convenient administrative panel. We develop websites in such a way that the customer can change the content on their own, without resorting to the services of programmers.
Evaluation and acceptance. The finished site is deployed in a test environment for demonstration to the customer. If the customer is satisfied with the result, the acceptance certificate is signed and the remaining 50% of the payment is transferred.
Launch and support. The site is transferred to the hosting, deployed and put into operation. We always stay in touch with our customers, provide technical support services, as well as extensions and changes in the functionality of the site.
How much time and money is needed to develop a corporate website
As with the development of a business card site, the time spent on creating a turnkey corporate site depends on a number of factors. Of course, the main expenses are the creation of the external and internal parts of the site: design, layout, programming. The evaluation of these works can also be different, as it depends on the complexity of the number of sections and functions. It matters whether a ready-made template will be used or the customer will prefer development from scratch.
The finished site will need to be filled with content. Some customers prefer to do it themselves, while others order a site already filled with content: articles, drawings and photographs, videos. Of course, content development is added to the total cost of the project.
Do not forget that the cost of buying hosting and domain will be added to the cost of the site. Without this, it will be impossible to launch the site into work.
The experience of contractors also influences the price and time frame: for example, our well-established team of specialists performs work faster due to customized internal business processes.
